An external expert who supports a crypto project or blockchain startup with guidance, knowledge, and strategic input. Advisers are not part of the core team but are brought in to help with areas where the project lacks expertise, such as legal, marketing, technical architecture, fundraising, or partnerships. They are usually compensated with a share of the project’s tokens or other benefits. Many crypto projects list well-known advisers in their whitepapers to increase investor confidence and credibility.
