RAVE: how a new cryptocurrency entered the top 30 and lost almost everything in 48 hours

Advanced Hype Crypto for newbies Crypto trading
The cryptocurrency RAVE quickly found itself at the center of investors’ attention due to an unconventional idea and a sharp increase in value. However, along with this, the asset demonstrated high volatility* and raised questions about its sustainability.
* Volatility is the degree and speed of an asset’s price change over a short period of time. The higher the volatility, the more sharply the price can rise or fall.
RAVE is a digital asset launched in December 2025 as part of the RaveDAO project. The RaveDAO platform is focused on the music industry and aims to expand the use of cryptocurrencies among participants of offline music events worldwide.
The main goal of RaveDAO is to connect the live entertainment sector with blockchain technologies. Primarily, this refers to the live music market, which exceeds $40 billion.
In addition, the project aims to attract music fans to the crypto industry through themed events and charitable initiatives. About 20% of the platform’s revenue is allocated to charity.
The RAVE cryptocurrency plays a key role in the RaveDAO ecosystem and serves as a universal payment method.

Features of the RAVE cryptocurrency

RAVE is issued across multiple networks:
* A layer-2 solution is an additional technology built on top of the main blockchain that helps speed up transactions, reduce fees, and decrease network load.
The maximum supply of RAVE is 1 billion tokens. As of April 2026, about 248 million RAVE are in circulation — less than a quarter of the total supply. At the same time, the asset is held in more than 50,000 crypto wallets.
Within the RaveDAO ecosystem, the RAVE cryptocurrency performs several functions:
  • Payments — used to purchase tickets and additional services at events;
  • Staking* (locking cryptocurrency to earn income) — holders can lock their tokens and receive rewards;
  • Governance — owners participate in DAO (decentralized autonomous organization)* voting;
  • Licensing — staking participants (those locking cryptocurrency) receive the right to use the RaveDAO brand to organize their own events.
* Staking (locking) is the process of locking cryptocurrency for a specified period to support a blockchain network or project ecosystem, with the potential to earn rewards.
* DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) is a form of project governance in which key decisions are made collectively by the community through voting rather than by a single person or a small group.
To support the value of the RAVE cryptocurrency, a deflationary model* is used: part of the revenue is directed toward token burning* (digital assets on the blockchain), reducing their total supply in circulation.
* A deflationary model is a mechanism in which the total supply of crypto assets decreases or grows slowly over time, potentially supporting their value through scarcity.
* Token burning (digital assets on the blockchain) is the irreversible removal of a portion of cryptocurrency from circulation by sending it to a special, inaccessible address. This is usually done to reduce market supply.

RAVE price surge and crash

Trading in the cryptocurrency began in mid-December 2025 at around $0.20. By early April 2026, the price had increased by about 1.5 times, after which a sharp surge began.
By mid-April 2026, the price reached an all-time high of $15.46, up approximately 77 times from the listing level. RAVE’s market capitalization approached $6 billion, allowing the asset to enter the top 30 of the crypto market.
One of the growth drivers was a post by Donald Trump about the listing of RAVE paired with USD1, a stablecoin (stable asset) of the World Liberty Financial ecosystem.
However, analysts believe that the rapid increase was largely speculative. In their view, the price of RAVE may have been artificially inflated to profit from liquidations in the futures market*.
* The futures market is a market where contracts are traded for the future purchase or sale of an asset at a predetermined price. In the crypto industry, it is often used for speculative trading.
After reaching its peak, the situation changed dramatically: on the very first day, the asset lost more than 90% of its value. Within two days, the price dropped more than 30 times, to $0.68. Market capitalization fell to $750 million, and the cryptocurrency dropped to 147th place in the rankings.

Reasons for the collapse and potential risks of RAVE

The exact reasons for RAVE’s decline remain unclear. Possible factors include:
  • natural correction after rapid growth;
  • execution of a “pump and dump”* scheme;
  • large sell-offs by participants associated with the project.
* Pump-and-dump is a scheme in which organizers artificially inflate an asset’s price, then sell it at the peak, causing a sharp price drop.
Blockchain analysts recorded a transfer of approximately $23 million in RAVE from one of the associated addresses to the Bitget exchange shortly after the collapse began, which may have further increased downward pressure on the price.

RAVE project outlook

Despite sharp fluctuations, RAVE still retains certain potential. The project is based on a real sector — the events industry — and is developing an active community.
At the same time, investors should consider several risks:
  • lack of a detailed roadmap;
  • high volatility;
The future of RAVE will largely depend on whether RaveDAO can establish itself as a sustainable player at the intersection of the crypto industry and the entertainment business.
